Superior HARDENERS

Superior Stone Products adhesives are sold with the correct amount of hardener to ensure optimal performance and proper mixing ratios. Always follow the mixing instructions specified on the adhesive product label for the best results.

Technical Specifications

  • BPO (Benzoyl Peroxide) – White Paste Hardener
    • For use with Polyesters, Vinyl Esters & Acrylics
  • MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) – Clear Liquid Hardener
    • For use with Polyester Water-Clear adhesives only

Recommended Mixing Practice

  • Use a disposable paper cup to mix adhesive and hardener for best results.
  • Avoid using:
    • Scrap cardboard (can absorb resin)
    • Scrap stone (may cause premature curing or contamination)

Important Usage Notes

  • ONLY use the amount of hardener specified on the adhesive label.
    • Too much hardener will:
      • Make the adhesive brittle
      • Weaken bond strength
      • Cause discoloration, even in cooler temperatures

Do not substitute other hardeners or modify the ratio unless specified by Superior Stone Products.
