Superior Stone Products includes the required amount of paste (BPO) or liquid (MEKP) hardener with each shipment to our distributors. Extra hardeners are also available and can be purchased separately but……
ONLY use the amount of hardener specified on the adhesive product label. Using “too much” hardener will cause the adhesive to become brittle, weakens the bonding strength and can cause discoloration even in colder temperatures.
For maximum performance, it is recommended to mix the adhesive and hardener in a disposable paper cup. It is best to avoid using scrap pieces of cardboard or scrap pieces of stone for mixing.

Polyester Water Clear QUART = (1) 1/2oz. Tube MEKP
Use: Follow the mixing directions on the product label. Required amount will vary based on the adhesive. Thoroughly “knead” (squeeze with fingers) the BPO before each use to make sure the material is completely mixed. Do NOT store hardener supplied by Superior Stone Products with hardener supplied by other manufacturers as they may be different formulations. Store hardener in a climate controlled room. Do NOT add extra hardener to make the glue gel faster. This will cause the adhesive to become too brittle, losing its bonding strength and possibly leading to a bonding failure. We recommend mixing hardener/glue in disposable cup (Do NOT use on scrap cardboard or stone).
Clear Liquid Hardener – MEKP
Use: Follow the mixing directions on the product label. Required amount will vary based on the adhesive. This hardener is ONLY used with Water Clear Polyester adhesives. Do NOT store hardener supplied by Superior Stone Products with hardener supplied by other manufacturers as they may be different formulations. Store hardener in a climate controlled room. Do NOT add extra hardener to make the glue gel faster. This will cause the adhesive to become too brittle, losing its bonding strength and possibly leading to a bonding failure. We recommend mixing hardener/ glue in disposable cup (Do NOT use scrap cardboard or stone).
Storage: Store indoors at room temperature. Do NOT store above 75°F (24°C). High heat and cold temperatures will adversely affect the shelf life. Avoid storage in direct sunlight and where freeze/thaw conditions may exist.
